Located in Newburgh NY, Behavioral Health Services of the Hudson Valley (BHSHV) houses a diverse group of private psychotherapy professionals including psychiatrists, licensed social workers and licensed mental health counselors. Providers and associates are independently licensed, independently insured, and maintain active membership in and affiliations with professional organizations such as the American Medical Association, National Association of Social Workers, American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Association.
BHSHV was established in response to the Hudson Valley’s growing need for mental health and substance abuse services in a private, collaborative setting. BHSHV practitioners are able to provide such services directly; to collaborate with other BHSHV practitioners; and refer to other specialty providers as needed.

We are committed to protecting the dignity, respect and privacy of our patients and their families in the most challenging of circumstances. We strive to assist our patients in achieving their personal goals. As such, all treatment plans are developed by and with our patients.
Professional services offered are individual psychotherapy, medication management, group psychotherapy, family therapy, marital therapy, psycho-education, psychological testing, crisis intervention.
Additionally, several providers are NYS OASAS approved for Impaired Driver Assessments.
Specialized Services
Our practitioners are trained and experienced in several specialty areas for treatment of anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), drug and alcohol dependencies, other addictions, bipolar disorders, ADD/ADHD, obsessive compulsive disorders (OCD), personality disorders, psychotic conditions, schizophrenia and sexual disorders.
We provide supportive intervention for individuals and families coping with marital problems, sexual, physical or mental abuse, anger management problems, gender related issues, grief and loss, stress related to financial or employment difficulties, unresolved family of origin or abuse issues, life stage related challenges, chronic pain and other life changing events or circumstances.
Additionally, we offer several specialty treatment modalities including: dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), inclusive of cognitive processing therapy (CPT), prolonged exposure therapy and exposure and response prevention, hypnotherapy, meditation, insight-oriented psychotherapy, eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR), SE, mindful & neuro meditation, remote neuro meditation training, vocational counseling, intellectual assessment, adaptive behavior functioning assessment, suboxone treatment and crisis intervention.
